By skyedanzer,
Are you or someone you know worried about the Swine Flu and pregnancy? Pregnancy is a very special time for women. The alarm that the Swine Flu can spread to pregnant women is only natural. After all, it’s not just the Mom that people worry about. How do you handle the Swine Flu and pregnancy?
Step 1
earn the symptoms of the Swine Flu and be aware of them. This will enable you to alert your health care provider early on if you should happen to get the Swine Flu or any other flu for that matter.
Step 2
Sanitize hard surfaces prior to contact with them such as door knobs, windows, car door handles, shopping basket handles and so forth.
Step 3
Don’t wear a mask to protect you from exposure to Swine Flu. There is controversy if facial masks will increase the changes of germs staying alive and active due to the moisture from your breath.
Step 4
Minimize your visits to health care facilities, unless needed for your prenatal care. For example, don’t go visit a sick friend at the hospital. Wait to visit until they’re at home and feeling better.
Step 5
Be vigilant about taking your prenatal vitamins, eating healthy, exercising and getting plenty of rest. This will help you be more resistant to the Swine Flu by keeping your immune system strong.
Step 6
If you work around hard surfaces in public, wipe them down. Wipe off your work cubicle at the beginning of each shift. Wipe off keyboards, telephones, cash register drawers and so forth to be on the safe side. Then wash your hands after you’re done.
Step 7
Limit visitors into your home until the Swine Flu alarm is over. In reverse, limit visiting people unless you know they’re not sick.
Step 8
Change out of your work clothes into clean clothes when you get home. Leave your shoes outside your front door. Why risk carrying in anything to your home, particularly with the Swine Flu spreading?
Step 9
Be aware of those around you when you’re out in public. If you see someone that is sneezing, coughing or just looks plain ill, keep your distance from them.
Step 10
Sanitize main rooms and rooms used frequently in your home on a daily basis, particularly the hard surfaces. It’s better to be safe than sorry.
